Crazy Springtime Snow Days

We have had quite a bit of snow for it to be MARCH in Virginia. There are still places with snow on the ground and Easter is in two days. Crazy. I am loathing winter, and the thought of continued chilly weather into next week make me cringe. :(
Most of these pictures are from our huge two foot snow back during the first week of March, which was Caroline's first real snow! Not sure how she felt about the whole experience, but she sure looked cute and stayed warm in her huge marshmallow suit!
SO... funny story about large snows for me in Virginia. Jay ALWAYS happens to be in Atlanta. Yes, warm, sunny, HOT-Lanta. Me I am stuck at home in the snow with no snow shovel back in 2011 (read more about that fiasco here) and then this year with a baby and no power! (Thankfully my mom was here too or I might have really lost it and forbid jay from ever leaving a five mile radius during the months of October to May)
So, mark your calendars Augusta County, Virginia, next time Jay is scheduled to be in Atlanta, IT WILL SNOW.
Since Jay was away enduring the dreadful mild temperatures of Georgia, I was stuck shoveling the driveway all.by.myself. I asked Jay to call me his rockstar beast of a wife for a day. He obliged.
How cute is she!?! Caroline definitely made our snow day much more fun!

NOW, COME ON SPRING!!!

a monday adventure

We bought a Cow Print trailer last week. Yup its a beauty and may or may not say "Honk if you love Chicken!".

We are pretty excited about all the possibilities with this new "toy" for Jay. Lots of Chick-fil-A to be taken to people that don't normal make the trek to our restaurant because our county is pretty large. The only problem with this trailer was that is was in Gaffney, SC. Thats about 8 hours away in trailer pulling time.

Lucky for us we were able to stay with family over the weekend {and see Gammy and Papa!} and then pick up our massive mini hotel room of a trailer on Monday.

We made the trek back to Waynesboro, VA with our Bella dog in the front seat, Jay driving of course, Caroline in her car seat {of course!), and me in the back seat entertaining her for a very, very loooong 8 hours. It usually take us about 5 1/2 to SC but pulling a cow trailer is a different story.

We made several stops to stretch and play and feed the little babe.... and to add more air to the tires and oil to the car. It was a little scary driving such a massive beast... Jay was a rock star though and did awesome!

Caroline, by the way, is the BEST 4 month old EVER. She really is such a trooper. We love our girl so much, and she truly is the PERFECT addition into our crazy life journey. {OH, and I must say, Bella is the ABSOLUTE BEST DOG EVER too. Man, she puts up with us very well!}

Caroline slept quite a bit, and we read books, and had a mini GiggleBellies youtube video marathon. And then we got about 20 miles from home and she decided to announce that she was officially DONE. The last little bit of the drive was a lot of baby screaming, and some of me singing "Rise and Shine" and "Old McDonald had a Farm" loudly over her to try and calm her down. Aside from that it was an exciting adventure!

We had close to 50 honks for others loving chicken, and lots of waves and thumbs up, and several people eating Chick-fil-A on the road holding up their cups as they drove by. We felt the love for sure!

Now to sell some chicken... and change that lettering to Chick-fil-A of Waynesboro... some how i got roped into that task....

This is a normal monday activity for other people isn't it? Nope, I didn't even think we were close to normal :)

Baby Girl Hawkins' Nursery!!

The Nursery is finished! Whew! Well its as finished as it is going to be... I am still in search of a white, vintage mirror for over the dresser and a fun clock... but hey no decorating project is really ever finished, atleast not for me! I am always on the hunt for something new to add or replace.

BUT anyway... It is finished and I am really happy with how it turned out!

We picked this room for the nursery because it is
1. Very Close to our bedroom
2. Tiny and helped me to remember that Baby Girl really doesn't need much
3. Still gave us 2 extra bigger guest rooms for welcomed family and friends to visit Waynesboro often!

We painted the walls an olympic paint color called Cold Steel last summer before we knew about little miss hawkins. I loved the color and decided that it would be the perfect neutral nursery color. It is a light gray color and goes perfect with lots and lots of pink and white! Let us know what you think...

Our verse for our Daughter - Zephaniah 3:17
"The Lord your God is with you,
He is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
and will quiet you with His love.
He will rejoice over you with singing."
Pictures of Baby Katherine, Baby Bella, and Baby Jay for our sweet Baby Girl.
Remember my changing table? It is still a favorite find and I love these polka dot baskets from Hobby Lobby. Already stocked full of diapers, burp clothes, wipes and a few special "lovies" too ;)
Our crib is from Babies' r us and the bedding is a black friday find at the pottery barn outlet. I am in love with the simple pink and white dots and stripes
Okay... so the "C" - We think we have a name... Caroline Bennett Hawkins... We are about 90% sure {and as sure as we are going to be until we meet our little princess and find out if she really looks like a Caroline}. And the elephant below had her due date... I will obviously reprint that picture and switch it out with the right birthdate when we know it, but for now it couldn't just stay blank on the wall...
A somewhat organized closet... This girl has some clothes and she isn't even here yet! She is going to be one well dressed little thing :)
Mom and I made the curtains too! Simple pink and white stripe fabric that I found at Fabric.com
Sweet Big Sister! Y'all she is too funny... She knows there is lots going on in this room and so she has decided to keep her pile of bones here. I guess she is laying claim to part of the room already or at least making sure her presence is still recognized.

I love her little doggie personality - My Bella girl is going to be such a protective big sis!

Alright so there it is! Leave us some love and let us know what you think!

22 Week Belly Shot and a few pictures of our other baby

Jay and I went to get our Christmas Tree last night and were rushing to make it before it got dark {story of our lives....}, but we found the perfect tree and are loving having our first tree in the new home! This picture is really dark and was very rushed, but baby girl is getting bigger, and definitelty making mama hungrier!

On a side note, and just beacause I want to share how cute Bella was playing in the leaves, here is our other "baby" on Thanksgiving. We raked some leaves that day for sure. Remember thos beautiful red trees? Yup they lost all those leaves....and Bella girl had wayyyyy more fun messing up our piles than we did picking them up...

Hope y'all have a great weekend!

Beach Vacation {Bella Style}

Bella LOVED the beach! She was literally in Dog heaven! It was so cute to see her enjoying the water. She was quite a good swimmer, and swam like a pro over the waves to Jay. It was fun to see how different Bella was from the little puppy who last summer was scared of the ocean.

She is such a good girl!

Jay and I also had a blast with our family. Lyndsey is such a cute little pregnant mama, but you would never be able to tell in any of these pictures because she hides her Gavin Belly so well. We are excited for Gavin to be here in only 3 short months!
